To the connoisseurs of art, Nasir Ali Mamun is known as 'Camerar Kobi', meaning the poet with a camera. His photographs speak for themselves. He is possibly the finest portrait photographer of our country. Time is captured with a single click and is preserved forever. The most striking aspect of his portraiture is that it masterfully depicts the essential features of each personality that is photographed.

Mamun is famous for his portraits of creative and prominent personalities. He has also captured the images of international celebrities like Mother Teresa, Amartya Sen, Guenter Grass, Octavio Paz, Joseph Brodsky, Allen Ginsberg, Saul Bellow, Norman Mailer and many others. He has also 45 solo photographic exhibitions to his credit till today and he is an author of five books. His mixing of light and shade creates varied perspectives. Mamun's personal archive is an amazing storehouse of creative people captured in rare moments. His portraits of light and shade are numerous. He is unrivaled in creative and portrait photography and their witty presentation. Mamun dreams of building his photo archive at Faridpur some time in the near future.
