BCL sweeps Ctg Law College polls

Opposition Awami League (AL) backed Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) has swept the election to the Chittagong Law College Central Student Union (CLCCSU). Kamrul Azam Tipu and Didarul Islam were elected vice- president and general secretary respectively of the CLCCSU in the election held on Sunday. BCL bagged 420 votes, ruling BNP backed Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) got 249 votes and Islami Chhatra Shibir got 219 votes. Soon after announcement of unofficial result Sunday night, activists of JCD and ICS were locked in a clash on the college campus, charging each other for the polls debacle. Police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control. Other office bearer of CLCCSU are joint secretary SM Lokman, magazine secretary Dirghatam Barua, debate secretary Dipak Chandra Nath, sports secretary Md. Rafiqul Islsam, social welfare and entertainment secretary Md. Aziz Uddin, treasurer Md. Mamunur Rashid, auditorium secretary Sumon Muhury, drama and cultural secretary Mir Mozibul Haider, women secretary Nasima Akter, class representative (1st year) Md Abu Sayem Chowdhury and class secretary (2nd year) Md Saiful Islam.
