It said the news quoted the minister as saying that "he received a letter Tuesday evening containing the recommendation of Chief Justice KM Hasan for confirmation of all the nine additional judges before expiry of their two-year tenure yesterday."

The clarification said this information was incorrect. It added that the minister informed (the BSS) about the receipt of the letter from the chief justice, but he said nothing about the contents of that letter.

The BSS copy that we used for the report said, "Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Barrister Moudud Ahmed told newsmen at his secretariat chamber today that he received a letter on Tuesday evening containing the recommendation of Chief Justice KM Hasan for confirmation of the services (of) all judges of the High Court division."

We took "all" in the BSS copy for all the nine judges. We regret the error caused due to the vagueness of the BSS copy.
