2,350 tons rice for victims of natural disasters

The government has allocated 2,350 metric tons of rice worth over Tk 3.52 crore for 47 districts affected by natural disasters including flood and tornado.The allocation was made at a meeting of Disaster Management and Relief Ministry yesterday. Minister Chowdhury Kamal Ibne Yusuf presided over the meeting. The districts are Dhaka, Narsingdi, Faridpur, Rajbari, Kishoreganj, Brahmanbaria, Natore, Joypurhat, Thakurgaon, Rangpur, Nilphamari, Bagerhat, Magura, Chuadanga, Patuakhali, Pirojpur, Munshiganj, Gazipur, Gopalganj, Shariatpur, Chandpur, Rajshahi, Naogaon, Dinajpur, Pabna, Lalmonirhat, Khulna, Jessore, Narail, Meherpur, Jhalakati, Barguna, Narayanganj, Manikganj, Madaripur, Mymensingh, Laxmipur, Chapainawabganj, Bogra, Panchagarh, Sirajganj, Kurigram, Satkhira, Jhenidah, Kushtia, Barisal and Bhola. Each district will get 50 metric tons of rice for distribution among the affected families. Deputy Minister for Disaster Management and Relief Asadul Habib Dulu and Relief Secretary ABM Muzaharul Haque and other high officials were also present in the meeting.
