What's the Real story?

Paris Saint Germain's Brazil midfielder Ronaldinho will be transferred to Real Madrid in 2004 but will remain at the French capital club next season, AS sports newspaper reported on Friday.

AS claim Real Madrid have offered PSG 35 million euros (40 million dollars) for the World Cup winner who will arrive at the end of next season, which the paper believes is why PSG have not followed up United's offer of 25 million euros.

Sources close to the club claim Real have already paid a 12-million-euro advance for the 23 year old though, at an official level, the club is refusing to comment.

Ronaldinho's purchase next season would probably see the departure of Portugal's Luis Figo, whose position has already been made more difficult, some say, by the arrival of England captain David Beckham.
