An officer of the Inter-Service Press Relations said the road will be allowed for light civilian vehicles from 7:30am to 11:00pm in line with an executive order.

Only small vehicles were allowed to ply the road between 7:30am and 12:30pm and 3:30pm and 7:30pm since April 2.

Earlier, the road had been opened to light civilian vehicles between 7:00am and 8:30pm to reduce traffic pressure on the Airport Road when construction of a fly-over at Mohakhali began last year.

After the Cantonment Road was made off-limits to certain vehicles for hours,

serious traffic congestion emer-ged as a regular feature on the Farm Gate-Banani Road via Mohakhali rail crossing.
