Relief Minister Chowdhury Kamal Ibne Yusuf held a meeting with district officials at the deputy Commissioner's office on Thursday. At the meeting, State Minister for Power Iqbal Hasan Mahamood who is in change of the district said 74 unions out 82 in the district have been flooded, affecting 9,88,356 people.

Crops on at least 40,000 hectares of land have been damaged, he said.
