BD's winning warm-up

Khaled Mashud smashed an unbeaten 37 off just 43 balls to steer Bangladesh to a four-wicket win over the Queensland Academy of Sport in a one-day match on Thursday.

Alok Kopali chipped in with 36 and in-form opener Hannan Sarkar stroked 35 as the Bangladeshis reached their victory target of 176 with almost four overs to spare.

Earlier, Bangladesh paceman Hasibul Hossain staked his strong claim for a place in the one-day side as he destroyed the Queensland Academy top-order.

The local side was restricted to 175 for 7 as Hasibul took 3 for 39, and skipper Khaled Mahmud contributed 2-33.

Craig Philipson (67) and Chris Hartley (41 not out) helped rebuild the innings but the locals, who lost captain Nathan Hauritz to hamstring strain before the match, failed to post a big enough total to seriously threaten the tourists.

Sanwar Hossain, who will play in the one-day series despite being reported during the second Test for a suspect bowling action, took 0-22 in his six overs.

Bangladesh, thrashed by Australia in their recent two-Test series, play the world champions in three one-day internationals starting Saturday in Cairns. The second match also takes place in Cairns the day after before the teams move back to Darwin for a final match on Wednesday.
