Directive to complete WDB projects timely


The government yesterday directed the engineers and officers of the Bangladesh Water Development Board (WDB) to complete the ongoing projects within he schedule time.

Water Resources Minister Hafizuddin Ahmad gave the directive while he was reviewing the Annual Development Programme (ADP) at his secretariat office here. State Minister for Water Resources Advocate Goutam Chakrabarti was present.

Water Resources Secretary Md Sayef Uddin, Director General of WDB Md Mokhlessuzzaman, Chief Engineers and the project heads also attended the meeting.

The meeting stressed the need for giving more attention towards protection of the land from continuous river erosion.

A decision was taken to give more attention to the sensitive projects, which would help bring more benefit to the people and give more priority to the prime minister's committed projects.

Decision was also taken to ensure proper utilisation of the money allocated for the projects and warned that wastage of money would not be tolerated at any cost.

Hafiz urged the officials to develop the image of the WDB by making the projects a success.
