Close calls at Dhanmondi Police Station

A sub inspector (SI) and two others sustained burn injuries when some cocktails went off inside the Dhanmondi Police Station yesterday.The explosion occurred at noon injuring SI Sheikh Motiur, 40, Monir Hossain, 30, a writer of the PS and Mohammad Taser, 40, a police informant, sources said. The cocktails exploded when one slipped from Taser's hand, duty officer of the PS said. The cocktails were being taken to the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate's Court as evidence. The injured received first aid at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital, sources said.
