"Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman made us indebted sacrificing his blood. We must reach the fruits of his sacrifice and of independence to every house in the country," she said inaugurating a blood donation programme.

The blood donation was organised by Bangladesh Krishak League as part of the month-long programme at Bangabandhu Bhaban in Dhanmondi to mourn the killing of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his family members.

The AL President formally inaugurated the programme donating her blood.

Hasina said: "The patrons of the killers of Bangabandhu are the enemies of the country and the nation... whenever they assume power, the dreams of the nation are shattered."

She said the BNP-Jamaat government has "removed the name of Bangabandhu from everywhere, but his name cannot be erased from the history."
