All eyes on Khulna from tomorrow

The last leg of the Nitol-Tata third National Football League begins tomorrow at the Khulna Stadium.Dhaka giants Muktijoddha Sangsad face Chittagong Mohammedan in the opening match. Muktijoddha, which dominated the Group B table, already confirmed their Super Six berth while surprise package Moulvibazar Wanderers moved into the last six from Group A. Moulvibazar finished their campaign unbeaten champions with ten points. Reigning champions Mohammedan Sporting Club almost booked their place with seven points from three matches. Arambagh Krira Sangha and Jhenaidah Mohammedan will it out battle to see who goes through to the next round as the third team of Group A. Motijheel-based Arambagh, have a slim chance of reaching the super-six, but they have to win against the all-losers Jamalpur Jagarani in their last match and hope that Jhenaidah rivals are thrashed by a big margin against Mohammedan. On the other hand, last year runners-up Abahani Krira Chakra and Bangladesh Army are in a pole position for Group B. But Chittagong Mohammedan with two matches in hand, could still sneak in.
