Iraq blues
Syed Badrul Haque, Lalmatia, Dhaka
Militarily the Iraq war was a cake-walk for the combined British-American forces, but the post-war Iraq proves a different terrain, if the continual number of body bags that are being sent back home are any indication. Sir John Bagot Glubb in 1959 in his book, Britain And the Arabs wrote, "The Arabic-speaking countries are easy to conquer.... The troubles of the would-be invader only begin when the conquest is over."
