Rejoinder
Hizbut Tawheed, an Islamist political party, has protested a news-story carried by The Daily Star on July 16 under the headline, 'New outlaw groups swing into action'.

A rejoinder signed by the Aameer of the organisation, Prof Muhammad Abul Bashar, said his party was not an underground one as mentioned in the report. The organisation is not involved in smuggling of arms and explosives into the country and trying to incite religious fanaticism among people, it added.

"Hizbut Tawheed has no hostility towards any particular organisation like Jamaat-e-Islami. But we strongly protest the use of Islam for political gains by any organisation and for financial gains by religious organisation and mullahs," it added.
