Six masked youths carrying sawn-off rifles and pistols broke into Saiful Amin's house through the ground floor verandah at around 3:30am.

The miscreants held the family members at gunpoint and asked them to hand over cash and valuables.

However, when they found only Tk 9,000 in cash, the gang beat up Saiful's uncle and nephew and threatened to kill Saiful's elderly mother.

Later they also took away gold ornaments said to be weighing about 10 tola, five wristwatches and a credit card.

Saiful filed a robbery case with the Kafrul Police Station, but police could not arrest anyone or recover the looted items till writing of this report at 6.00 last evening.
