JCD vows to resist Shibir at JU

The 14th death anniversary of JCD activist Habibur Rahman Kabir was observed on the Jahangirnagar University campus yesterday.The JCD brought out a procession on the campus to mark day. The JCD also held a rally at the foot of Amar Ekushey. Habibur Rahman Kabir was killed allegedly by the Islami Chhatra Shibir cadres on 27 August 1989 on the campus. The JU students under the banner of Sangrami Chhatra Oikya (SCO) protested the killing and banned all Shibir activities on the campus. Addressing the rally, the JCD leaders vowed to resist all Islami Chhatra Shibir (ICS) activities on the campus. JU unit JCD President Parvez Mallick,, secretary Harunur Rashid and hall unit leaders attended the programme. On the occasion a milad mahfil was also held at the central mosque on the campus.
