Usha's maiden Super 5 win
Sports Reporter
Usha Krira Chakra tamed giant-killers Sonali Bank 4-1 in a Green Delta Premier Division Hockey League match at the Maulana Bhasani National Stadium yesterday. This was Usha's first win in their four 'Super Five' encounters so far, but their effort meant little as they remained at the bottom with 18 points from 13 matches. On the other hand, Sonali Bank, who upset Abahani in their previous game, also stayed put with 19 points from twelve matches. Usha led the first-half 2-1 in the one-sided match against the youthful bankers. Indian Vikramjit Singh struck twice, once in each half, from penalty corners. Forward Moududur Rahman Shuvo netted a field goal before the break and Vikramjit's countryman Mobinur Rahman scored another field goal in the second session for Usha. Indian Anil Ekka reduced the margin for bankers. TODAY'S MATCH Mohammedan SC v Ajax SC (4pm)
