Laid-off workers of 3 jute mills to get all dues


The Privatisation Commission yesterday decided to take steps to pay all outstanding dues with the workers and employees of three laid-off jute mills.

The decision was made at its 20th meeting on privatisation of the People's Jute Mills, Eastern Jute Mills and Star Jute Mills. Chairman of the Privatisation Commission Enam Ahmed Chowdhury presided over.

The meeting expressed the hope that the mills would contribute to the economy and create job opportunities after privatisation.

Abu Hena MP, Mohammad Hafiz Ibrahim MP, Gazi Mohammad Shahjahan MP, secretaries and the acting chairman of Securities and Exchange Commission, attend the meeting.
