DMCH staff, another killed in city road accidents

An employee of the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) died after being run over by a pick-up at Satrasta in the city's Tejgaon area yesterday.Golam Mostafa, 45, a guard at the Tejgaon government laundry of the DMCH was hit by the pick-up while he was crossing the road at about 4:30pm. A fatally injured Mostafa was rushed to the DMCH where he died. The body was kept for autopsy. Mostafa was going to work after drawing his salary from the DMCH, said Pannu Howladar who was with the victim at the time of the accident. Police seized the pick-up but its driver managed to flee. No case was filed till last evening, police said. In another incident, a man of about 25 was crushed under a speeding truck in the early hours of yesterday in front of Shishumela in the city's Shyamoli. The victim was wearing a pair of jeans and a white full-sleeve shirt. Mohammadpur Police recovered the body and sent it to the DMCH for autopsy. A case was filed.
