Land dispute 4 killed, 10 hurt in Naogaon

Four of a family were killed and ten others injured when their rivals launched attack on them over a land dispute in Kalaibari village under Porsha upazila of the district on Saturday.

The victims were identified as Shafiqul Islam, 45, Nargis, 27, Sherina, 35, and Mizanur Rahman, 10.

Police sources said the incident took place when one Abdus Samad launched the attack on the family living on three Bighas of "Khas" land at the village on Saturday in a bid to evict them from the government land.

The family has been living on the land for the last six years after taking lease from the government, police said.

Samad was claiming ownership of the land and tried to evict the family members.

The injured were later admitted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.
