Rain makes men wait

US Open officials postponed to Tuesday all men's matches scheduled here Monday at the year's final Grand Slam tennis event, including Thai 11th seed Paradorn Srichaphan's encounter with Australian sixth seed Lleyton Hewitt.

Rain that plagued the Flushing Meadows hardcourts all day has pushed all eight men's fourth round matches onto Tuesday's schedule, although rain is in the forecast here Tuesday and Wednesday as well.

World number one Andre Agassi's match with fellow American Taylor Dent was postponed, as was the match involving the winner's next opponent, fifth seed Guillermo Coria of Argentina against Sweden's Jonas Bjorkman.

Also moved was Spanish third seed Juan Carlos Ferrero's match with US veteran Todd Martin.
