Embargo on university teacher recruitment to go

The chairman of the University Grants Commission (UGC) yesterday said the government will withdraw the embargo on recruitment of teachers in the public universities.UGC Chairman Prof Asaduzza-man told this at a meeting with a delegation of the Federation of Bangladesh University Teachers' Association (FBUTA). The meeting also decided that identical guidelines, which have been formulated by the UGC, will be implemented through discussion between the university authorities and the FBUTA for recruitment and promotion of the teachers. The government slapped a temporary embargo on recruitment of teachers in the public universities a few months back.
