Nazrul remembered at Bangla Academy

Nazrul was remembered and his songs were sung at the Bangla Academy to commemorate his death anniversary. The Nazrul Mancha had several eminent singers and reciters praising Nazrul and singing his compositions.Verses from the Holy Quran were recited prior to the commencing of the show. The program began with a series of discussions regarding Nazrul's life and his actions. Included in this discussion were Khalid Hossain, Shahabuddin Ahmed, Souda Akhter and Alauddin Al Azad. Reputed personalities, writers, singers and reciters of Nazrul received books as tokens of appreciation from the Bangla Academy. After the discussion, Ferdous Ara and her group of students took the floor and chorused a Nazrul composition. Ferdous Ara herself presented a popular number, followed by Sohrab Hossain and Rebecca Sultana. Eminent Nazrul artistes namely Shaheen Samad, Khalid Hossain and many others had also presented popular Nazrul songs at the show.
