Meghna Life Insurance Third Division Football League will begin on September 16.

Kasaituli Samaj Kalyan Parishad will take on Gulistan Club in the opening match at the Shahid Mustafa National Stadium in Kamalapur at 4pm. State Minister for Youth and Sports Fazlur Rahman is expected to inaugurate meet.

A total of nineteen teams, spilt into two groups for the first round, are to take part in the 80-minute competition.

Four top finishers from each group will proceed to the super league. The top two teams in the competition will be promoted to Second Division next year.

"Meghna Life Insurance provides Tk 2 lakhs to earn the right of the title sponsorship," league committee secretary Abul Hossain Azad told reporters at a press briefing yesterday.

Bangladesh Football Federation president SA Sultan and general secretary Anwarul Haq Helal, chairman of Meghna Insurance Niaz Ahmed Khan were present.

GROUP A: Avijatrik Malibagh, Mirpur XI, Sunrise SC, Spondon KC, Little Friends Club, Eskaton Sabuj Sangha, Dilkusha SC, Sadesh SKS and Shahid Zia Smriti Sangsad.

GROUP B: Kasaituli SKP, Gov. Printing Press SERC, Matuail Udoyan Sangsad, Rahmatganj SC, Rainbow AC, Karwan Bazar Progoti Sangha, Lalbagh SC, Dhaka SC, Adamjee SC and Gulisthan Club.
