Army major, 3 of his family die in tragic road accident

An army major and his wife, daughter and sister were killed when their car rammed into a bus on the Bogra-Natore Highway yesterday.Police and witnesses said Major Dr Syed Hasan Jamal, 43, second-in-command of Bogra Combined Military Hospital, his wife and sister died instantly in the collision near Umarpur bus-stand in Nandigram upazila. His daughter, aged about 11, was admitted to Bogra Mohammad Ali Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries. Major Jamal, on a six-day leave, was going home in Rajshahi, along with his family members. The accident took place at about 4:00pm.
