Two dredgers, launch fined

A special team of shipping department yesterday fined five dredgers and a small motor launch on the river Turag in Ashulia for plying without valid documents.A team led by Magistrate Fazlur Rahman found the dredgers working without registration and survey certificates and fined Tk 10,000 each. Owners of those vehicles would have to serve six months in jail if they fail to pay the sum, sources said. The team also fined Seagull, a small motor launch, of Tk 5,000 during the drive, sources added.
