Abbreviating Bangladesh

Bangadesh is abbreviated in different ways by different bodies the way they like. Say for example, TV Sports Channel calls BAN, TV Entertainment Channel calls BNG and many other national and international agencies call it BD. Some websites even write BDS. I feel this very much humiliating. May be this is not anything new. But, isn't it important to standardise the abbreviation strictly by the government of Bangladesh? If so, I would suggest it should be universally called BD.
