10 shown arrest for Rupsha AL actvist murder, 2 cops closed


Police yesterday picked up 27 people from different parts of East Rupsa in connection with Friday's murder of Awami League activist Tushar Hasan Lenin.

Seventeen of them were, however, released after interrogation. Ten others were shown arrest for their alleged involvement in the murder.

Meanwhile, police sub-inspector A Samad and assistant sub-inspector Zinnatul Islam of East Rupsha Police Station have been closed for negligence of duty.

Outlawed Purba Banglar Communist Party (PBCP-Janojuddha) has claimed responsibility for killing the AL activist.

Tushar Hasan Lenin was shot dead in front of Motor Sramik Union office at East Rupsa on Friday night.
