Int'l film festival begins in Ctg


A week-long international film festival kicked off at the studio theatre of Muslim Institute Hall in the port city yesterday.

It has been jointly organised by Chittagong Film Centre (CFC) and Bangladesh Federation of Film Society.

A total of 17 films from 20 countries will be screened during the festival.

The participating countries are Nepal, Malaysia, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Japan, France, Finland, Ukraine, Croatia, Spain, Italy, USA, India, Thailand, United Kingdom, Poland, Taiwan, Iran, Indonesia and Singapore.

Noted Italian filmmaker and Vice- President of the International Federation of Film Society (IFFS) Paolo Minato formally inaugurated the festival at 6.00pm.

Asia Regional Editor of IFFS Golam Robbani, Filipino filmmaker Justino Darmindo and Chittagong unit president of international film festival committee Bidhan Barua also addressed the inaugural ceremony.
