BCB's Tk 10 lakh offer!

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) came up with a lucrative bonus scheme for the national team in an effort to end their losing streak."Bangladesh team can expect to earn Tk 10 lakh if they win any match," said BCB media committee chairman Reazuddin Al Mamum after a meeting yesterday. The Board has also decided to honour all-rounder Alok Kapali with a cash prize for his historic hattrick against Pakistan. The leg-spinner wrote his name into the record books with his amazing spell in the second Test in Peshawar. Besides, the rewards, the meeting also announced a fresh list of 11 players on the Board's payroll. Previously there were six paid cricketers. Of the original six, the three survivors are top batsman Habibul Bashar, wicketkeeper Khaled Mashud and young Kapali. They will be joined by Bangladesh captain Khaled Mahmud, openers Hannan Sarker, Javed Omar Belim, pacemen Mashrafee-bin-Mortuza, Tapas Baisya, sensational batsman Rajin Saleh, left-arm spinner Mohammad Rafique, and all-rounder Mushfiqur Rahman. The three unlucky players omitted from the pay-list include batsmen Sanwar Hossain, Al-Shahriar and left-arm seamer Manjurul Islam. But the Board was yet to fix the grades for the 11 players on its payroll. "We will seek the advice of the coach and selectors before announcing the grades," said Mamun.
