People rallying round JP to get back peace, security: Ershad

Former president and Jatiya Party Chairman HM Ershad has said people are rallying round his party to get back peace and security as the BNP-Jammat government failed to ensure those.

"People are fed us with its misrule. Instead of good governance, the ruling coalition dragged the country into deep uncertainty", he said addressed a public meeting at Bheramara BJM College ground on Saturday.

With Bahadurpur Union Parishad Chairman Abdur Razzak in the chair, the meeting was addressed by, among other, JP central secretary ABM Ruhul Amin Hawladar, GM Golam Kader MP, Golam Habib Dulal MP, Ahasan Babib Linkon, Safiul Alam Pradhan, Ahamed Sarif and Nafiz Ahmed Khan Titoo.

Ershad said Awami League and BNP destroyed peace as they sheltered criminals and toll collectors.

"People were better during my nine-year rule and they want Jatiya Party in power again", he said.

Crimes are rising as police can not work neutrally because of political influence, he claimed.
