The Brihattar Jainta Samannaya Samity (Greater Jainta Cooperation Association) earlier called the hartal to pressed the demand.

The hartal follows rallies in different aereas of the upazila, held by the Samity yesterday and the day before, to press the demand.

BRTC service in four routes in the district from Sylhet railway station was introduced on September 10. But, the service on Sylhet-Tamabil-Jafflong route was withdrawn last week following pressure from private transport owners and workers associations.
