Three armed robbers stabbed Parveen Ahmed thrice in the throat at her at 43, Haranath Ghosh Lane residence at around 7:15pm. The fatally injured victim was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where she died, hospital sources said.

"There was a party at the house and Parveen was in the kitchen when the robbers entered through the open gate," said victim's husband Maksudur Rahman who went to get some sweets for the guests when the incident happened.

On his return, Maksud said, he found the gate closed from inside. He then peeped through the kitchen window and saw three youths scuffling with his wife.

The gang fled through the back door when Maksud raised alarm. He then entered the house by breaking the door and found his wife lying dead in a pool of blood.

Lalbagh Police visited the spot at 9:00pm yesterday. An investigation is on.
