Channel-i goes 5 steps ahead

Hridoye Bangladesh or Bangladesh within the heart, was the slogan Channel-i began with in 1999. The slogan goes on even today. Channel-i will step into its 5th year this Wednesday.With a dream to enhance the culture and the tradition of this country, Channel-i launched itself on October 1, 1999 and since then have been rendering entertainment to an audience belonging to all social levels. The channel saw the need to bring about an awareness amongst the people of the developments made, the growing corruption, the increasing obstructions and also the various successes in the country, and it did just that. Gradually, Channel-i completed its four years and has triumphed into its fifth. Looking back, Channel-i had begun airing the very popular and informative item on TV today, its news programme. On October 1, 2001, its second birthday, along with the 8th National Election day, the channel for the first time aired its news, creating a new dimension in visual news reporting. On October 1, 2002, Channel-i celebrated its third birthday by airing Jonopoder Khobor. Recently, Channel-i also launched the Breakfast News on June 30. The channel also introduced another dimension in the field of Tele-media. For the first time in the history of electronic media in the country, Channel-i ran the daily soap opera Jowar Bhata. Channel-i plans to hold on to its slogan Hridoye Bangladesh and see it reflect on the face of every citizen of Bangladesh. This is emphasised not only in the country but also abroad, where reside thousands of Bangladeshi viewers. For all those Bangla speakers who live so far away, Channel-i emphasises on the slogan Probasheo Bangladesh. That is why, Channel-i is said to be 'yours, everybody's and my home channel.' Channel-i goes Online The 1st Digital Channel in Bangla Language, Channel-i has stepped on its 5th year of operation. To mark this occasion, a press conference was held at Hotel Purbani on September 29. The conference was presided over by Shykh Seraj, Director (News), Channel-i. He led his team, comprising Farid Ur Reza Sagar, Managing Director, Impress Telefilm Ltd.; Zahiruddin Mahmood, Director of Impress Telefilm; Shah Alamgir, Chief News Editor, and Saiful Amin, Chief of Correspondent, to the podium. Shykh gave the inaugural speech recollecting how it all initiated from the rudimentary stages. He mentioned a few elegant events to be aired in order to make the birthday memorable. The journalists were then asked to present any form of queries they had. Answering one such question, Farid Ur Reza Sagar conveyed the need for more sponsors to carry on the morning sessions. The official website for the channel, www.channel-i-news.com, was developed by BDCOM Online Ltd. and was officially launched by Shykh Seraj. The superbly decorated cake was cut to mark the weeklong occasion.
