French award for Rafi Haque

Rafi Haque has been awarded in the "Fifth International Triennale Print" and a solo exhibition of his prints has been organized in France. Four hundred and thirty-eight artists from 100 countries participated in this triennale. The jury consisting of prominent artist from around the world selected 7 artists for prizes.

As an awarded artist a solo exhibition of Rafi Haque will be held at Chamalieres from October 4 and will remain open till November 22. At the same time 6th World Triennale of prints will be held at Chamalieres and artists from 99 countries will participate. Rafi Haque is participating in this triennale as an invited artist.

Rafi loves to explore the rich and symbolic world of colours and study the protean nature of forms, as well as understand the aesthetics of geometry. His sensitiveness is expressed through the intelligent use of subtle lines and colours. He composes with feelings of despair but those also give moments of hope and peace. To express the inner human feelings Rafi has chosen the style of abstract expressionism and those are by etching. He has also used water colour. He is influenced by Mohammed Kibria and Monirul Islam.

He says, "I always keep in mind that I must avoid too many technicalities which may overshadow the aesthetic quality of my prints: the work should have a life of its own. Printmaking has changed greatly and I want to experiment more in this media in future".
