1 dies, 20 women cops hurt as bus hits road divider

An unidentified youth was killed and 20 policewomen were injured when a bus overturned at Shahbagh in Ramna yesterday.A requisitioned bus carrying police personnel hit a road-divider near the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh at around 3:45pm, killing an unknown man on the spot and injuring the policewomen. Of the injured Momtaz Begum, Fatema Begum, Eeti Khanam, Monwara Begum, Hosne Ara Begum, Kamrunahar, Rekha and Julekha Akther were admitted to Rajarbagh Police Lines Hospital while the others took first-aid at Dhaka Medical College Hospital. The bus was on its way to Awami League central office and a helper was driving the vehicle recklessly, an injured alleged. Meanwhile, police held driver Shohag.
