Death penalty for keeping Phensidyl


Additional District Judge Mohammad Hossain Al Helal has given death sentence to one person for possessing 3000 bottles of Phensidyl.

The judge handed down the punishment to Darud Ali of Elangi village in Kotchandpur upazila on Saturday.

Ali was caught on the night of May 27, 2001 by a task force comprising BDR and police, led by a First Class Magistrate. The phensydil bottles were recovered from his house.

A case was lodged with Kotchandpur police under the Narcotics Act.
