Brac signs MOU with Harmony Project Team of Cuba
UNB, Dhaka
A memorandum of understanding (MOU) between Social Harmony Project Management Team (SHPMT) of Cuba and Brac was signed yesterday to offer children a platform to promote "The culture of world peace".South Asia Representative of SHPMT, Cuba and Director, Public Affairs of BRAC signed the agreement at BRAC centre. A key component of the Social Harmony Project is cultural exchange between Bangladesh and Cuba. The exchange will facilitate a children's theater group from each country to produce a fusion theater presentation at the 8th World Children's Amateur Theater Festival and International Symposium in Havana in July next year. Sixty children from low income/disadvantaged backgrounds who would not have access to the performing arts will take part. While empowering children to create a positive awareness of Bangladesh at an international event, it will also enable children from Bangladesh to build capacity, confidence and experience by engaging in globally common issues at international level, says a press release.
