Body formed to probe killing of rly guard


Bangladesh Railway (BR) yesterday formed a two-member committee to probe the killing of railway guard Bhashan Chandra Aich.

The committee comprising Abdur Razzak Bhuiyan, deputy chief traffic manager of the BR (East), and Iqbal Hossain, commandant of Railway Security Force (Sadar), was asked to submit its report within a week, railway sources said.

Meanwhile, M Mokhleser Rahman, general manager of the BR (East) and other officials visited the slain guard's residence at Goshaildanga and assured the family members that the BR would provide all out support to them at its earliest.

Assailants strangled Aich on the Dhaka-Chittagong inter-city train, Turna Nishita Wednesday night.
