2 trampled to death by wild elephants in Rangamati

Two people were trampled to death by wild elephants at Jouthokhamar in Bangalhalia union in Rangamati district on Wednesday night, the district administration said.Montu Dev, 38, died on the scene and Sui Mu Ching Marma, 50, died on the way to the upazila health complex when the marauding herd rampaged through the village in the night. Talking to this Corespondent, local Deputy Commissioner Dr Jafar Ahmed Khan said he directed the upazila nirbahi officer to visit the area. He said frequent such attacks by the beasts in recent months panicked the locals.
