Blair's speech on Iraq

I am writing about the latest speech by the PM of Britain, Tony Blair. The speech was made in the Labour Party Conference in Bournemouth, UK, on 30/09/2003.

Of late, Tony Blair has gone through a lot of difficulties due to his controversial decision for going to war against Iraq. He has drawn a lot of flack with respect to his policy on the Iraq War, from across the world. But I feel that we should dig deep into the reasons behind his going to the war.

It is an extremely difficult decision for any leader of a particular country to send troops, and such sacrifices are only made when it becomes an absolute necessity. I do feel that Iraq will be a much better place after the brutal regime of Saddam Hussein, and I guess some of the staunchest "anti-war" protestors will also agree with me. The speech made by Tony Blair in the Labour Party Conference was a very crucial one because there were rumours about internal crisis between the Labour leaders. Blair's 51 minute speech, according to my opinion, was a great one.

Especially, the segment of his speech that dealt with Iraq was outstanding. This great speech will shut the mouths of all the critics who undermined his popularity, including those within his own party.
