PSC shrugs off responsibilities

The PSC is the apex body to fulfil hopes and aspirations of the unemployed youth. To keep up with this commitment, the PSC should not do anything which brings discredit to its name and questions its fame and credibility. No one expected the way PSC had behaved with the applicants while dealing with the post of 'Sub-Registrar' under the ministry of law, justice and parliamentary affairs. I have no doubt that the PSC had shown insincerity and callousness to the candidates. It cancelled 13 thousand applications for different mistakes, which is very silly to say the least. The PSC should have sent letters to the candidates for possible corrections of those forms on which mistakes were spotted. In the past, we saw the PSC using letters for correction of mistakes in the application forms of other BCS examinations. This does not cost much money. The candidates have given bank drafts/pay orders of 75/-tk each along with their application forms. We know that Bangladesh is a poor country with a large number of unemployed educated youth. So this amount is not a peanut. What the PSC has done is totally unacceptable. This is not how a responsible, state-run organisation should shrug off its responsibilities. Another irresponsibility the PSC had shown was its issuance of interview cards to the candidates for written test just seven to 15 days before the test. The PSC should allow at least one month time to the candidates after they receive interview cards. Won't such activities go against the fame and credibility of the PSC?
