Mofazzal Karim becomes high commissioner to UK


Retired secretary AH Mofazzal Karim has been appointed the next high commissioner of Bangladesh to the United Kingdom.

Mofazzal was born in Moulvibazar district in 1941. He obtained his Masters in English literature from Dhaka University in 1962 and joined the erstwhile Civil Service of Pakistan (CSP) in 1966.

He was secretary of the Ministry of Commerce (twice), secretary of the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock and secretary of Ministry of Shipping.

After retirement, he joined the BNP. He is a member of the Council of Advisors to the BNP chairperson, said a press release.
