Tk 5.5 lakh medicine haul at ZIA

Customs officials at Zia International Airport (ZIA) yesterday seized contraband medicine reportedly worth about Tk 5.5 lakh from two Bangladeshi citizens.Acting on a tip, the customs intelligence searched the luggage of Jarina Begum and Zahura Begum and found the contraband medicine wrapped in carbon paper. Jarina and Zahura came to Bangladesh from Pakistan on a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight. A departmental case was filed.
