The programme included conference of the representatives from different parts of the country, training of the representatives on cultural reporting and a discussion session followed by a musical soiree.

Journalists Fauzul Karim and Hedayet Hossain Morshed and Sargam editor Quazi Rownaq Hossain conducted the training programme.

Presided over by Quazi Rownaq Hossain, philanthropist Professor Moniruzzamn attended the discussion session as chief guest. Professor Sakhawat Ali Khan, Chairman of Department of Mass Communication and Journalism, Dhaka University, Nirmal Sen, veteran journalist and columnist, Reazuddin Ahmed, President of National Press Club, also editor of The News Today, and Alamgir Mohiuddin, editor of The New Nation, attended the function as special guests.

Hafizur Rahman, Iffat Ara Nargis, Ulka Hossain, Fatematuz Zohra, Jamil Ibrahim, Alam Ara Minu and Shuvro Dev entertained the audience with their melodious presentations.
