Eto'o Mallorca's only until June

Real Mallorca coach Luis Aragones said on Tuesday that his Cameroon international striker Samuel Eto'o has agreed to stay at the struggling Balearic island club, at least until the end of the season.

The volatile Eto'o exploded in a press conference on Monday, declaring he was on the point of walking out on Mallorca, who are second from bottom of the Spanish first division.

"My time at Mallorca has come to an end. It's time to go when you don't have confidence in things," fumed Eto'o in the wake of Mallorca's 3-1 home defeat to Barcelona on Sunday.

"I demanded a meeting with him and asked for some background to his comments. We've talked and resolved things, until at least June," the veteran Aragones, the Spanish first division's most experienced coach, told reporters on Tuesday.

Aragones was brought in two weeks ago for his second stint at the club after the previous coach Jaime Pacheco had been sacked.

The 65-year-old coach indictated that Eto'o would receive some kind of punishment for his outburst, but didn't reveal what it would be.

"And it would have been much worse if he hadn't apologized," commented Aragones.

"He (Eto'o) has objected to some things, and the club thinks in a different way (to him) but I asked the player not to create any more problems until June.

"He made inappropriate statements and chose a bad time to do it. I told him that if a footballer has a problem then to talk to me about it and I would do my best to reach some kind of agreement.

"But everyone knows Eto'o. He's speaks his mind," added Aragones, who said that case was now closed until the end of the season.
