2 outlaws shot dead in Kushtia


Two cadres of the outlawed Biplobi Communist Party (BCP) were gunned down allegedly by rival party cadres at Chapaigachi in Sadar upazila early hours of yesterday.

The dead were identified as Mohor Ali, 30, son of late Noyan Ali of village Baliapara in Sadar upazila and Swapan, 35, son of late Abdur Razzak of village Cheuria in Kumarkhali upazila.

Police said a gang of around 15, allegedly belonging to the outlawed Gano Mukti Fouz, an armed wing of Sramajibi Mukti Andolon (SMA) attacked on the BCP cadres when they were holding a meeting at Chapaigachi village at about 3 am.

The Gano Mukti Fouz (GMF) cadres sprayed bullets on them. Two BCP cadres died on the spot.

Police recovered their bodies yesterday morning and sent them to Kushtia General Hospital for autopsy.

No case was filed in this connection.

In another incident Sajjad Hossain, 13, son of Sanwar Hossain at village Krishnapur in Kumarkhali upazila was shot dead on the same day.

Police said, Sajjad, a madrassah student, was shot by unidentified gunmen in front his house at about 9.30 pm. He died on the spot.

The cause of the killing could not be known immediately.

A case was filed with Kumarkhali police station.
