One dies from wrong treatment in Satkhira


A patient died at a clinic at Kolaroa upazila headquarter allegedly due to wrong treatment by a fake doctor.

Khaleda Begum of Rasulpur village in Satkhira Sadar upazila alleged at a press conference here that her ailing husband Yakub Ali, 50, was taken to a private clinic at Kolaroa on October 3. The clinic is owned by one Prabhash Chandra Ghosh, she claimed.

Soon often admission, one Abdul Mannan, who claimed himself to be a physician, pushed an injection in the patient's left hand. Next morning, she and her son Mafizul Islam went to the clinic and found her husband dead.

Reading a written statement at the Satkhira Press Club on October 28, she alleged that her husband died from wrong treatment by the fake doctor.

Asked why she did not file a case, she said the clinic owner was threatening her of "dire consequences" if she filed a case.

She however said she would file a case soon.
