Prize distribution ceremony of army qirat, azan competition

The prize distribution ceremony of the Inter-Area Annual Qirat and Azan competition-2003 of Bangladesh Army was held at the Garrison Mosque at Dhaka Cantonment after Juma prayers yesterday.The Comilla Area team won the title obtaining 829 points out of total 1200 points while the Chittagong Area team became runners-up with 811 points, said an ISPR press release. In the qirat competition, Sergeant Muhammad Shah Alam (Comilla Area) won the first prize while Lance Corporal Hafiz Muhammad Ruhul Amin (Chittagong Area) and Sainik Hafiz Muhammad Saidur Rahman (Rangpur Area) got the second prizes jointly. In the azan competition, Lance Corporal Hafiz Muhammad Ruhul Amin (Chittagong Area) became first while Sergeant Hafiz Muhammad Bellal Hossain and Lance Corporal Muhammad Waliullah of the Comilla Area team received the second prizes jointly. Chief of Army Staff Lt. Gen. Hasan Mashhud Chowdhury was present as chief guest and distributed prizes among the winners.
