Dollar strong against taka

The US dollar remained strong against the Bangladesh taka yesterday in dull inter-bank trading as the demand for the US unit was strong from importers and traders, dealers said.The dollar traded at 58.4400 taka and 58.4550 taka per unit in line with its previous closing on Saturday, dealers of leading commercial banks said. The demand for the greenback remained strong as importers are under pressure to import goods to meet the consumers' demand during upcoming Eid shopping later this month, they said.
